MJ is Dead:Am I Suppossed to Cry?

This week has been a hard one for the entertainment industry. Fara Fawcett and Michael Jackson have passed on leaving fans shell-shocked. To be honest, I was never a great fan of either so I may not be feeling the loss as much. But I wouldn’t be insensitive to those who worshiped the very ground their idols walked on, especially MJ.
Still, I am trying to come to terms with the amount of airtime and coverage mainstream is devoting to Michael, a forgotten and derided figure in the latter part of his life.
At 25, I may not be fully appreciative of Michael’s said and famed prowess given that at the height of his popularity I was still in formative years. But even if I was there when ‘thriller’ was all the rage, I doubt that I would be able to come to terms with the coverage he is getting in the middle of a global economic meltdown, conflicts in Africa and elsewhere, Iran and North Korea{read nuclear threat} are in the news and of course the never-ending Middle-East crisis.
Those are issues that are more close to my heart than the popping of the ‘king of pop.’
So with all due respect to MJ’s fans, not a tear from my side.
